9 Habits That’ll Keep You Feeling Incredible on Holiday

Travel can either feel like a beautiful reset… or like something you have to recover from. If you've ever come home feeling sluggish, disconnected from your body, or battling guilt over how much you indulged, you're not alone. And you’re definitely not broken.

But what if your holidays could leave you feeling better — more energised, lighter, more vibrant than when you left?

I just came back from 10 days away and genuinely felt incredible. I didn’t restrict myself. I had wine almost every day. I ate chocolate. We dined out. And yet, I came home feeling grounded and healthy in my body — even slightly lighter than before I left.

The difference? I leaned into nine habits that support my health, no matter where I am. These are simple, identity-driven practices that keep me feeling my best, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. And I want to share them with you.

1. Know your health values and honour them, always
When you treat health as part of who you are, not just something you do, choices become easier. For me, feeling good is non-negotiable. That doesn’t mean restriction — it means honouring the things that help me feel aligned and alive.

2. Visualise how you want to feel when you return
Ask yourself, “What’s the energy I want to carry home?” Visualising that future feeling — light, empowered, vibrant — helps guide your actions in the present.

3. Move daily, even in the smallest ways
Movement doesn’t have to be structured or long. A stretch, a walk, a quick sweat can completely shift your energy. I moved my body every day on holiday — not out of obligation, but because it feels so good to stay connected to myself.

4. Balance your meals throughout the day
If I know we’re going out for a rich dinner, I naturally keep the rest of the day nourishing and lighter. It’s not about ‘earning’ food — it’s about creating a rhythm that supports my body and digestion.

5. Look for opportunities, not excuses
It’s easy to say “I’m away, so I can’t…” But instead, I ask “How can I honour my body here?” Whether it was a winter cold plunge or a brisk walk after dinner, I kept finding ways to feel good wherever I was.

6. Make it fun to find healthy options
I genuinely enjoy hunting down wellness-focused cafés, trying a new smoothie, or asking for a swap on a menu. Treat it like a game. Being healthy doesn’t mean being boring — it’s often the opposite.

7. Surrender to what you can’t control
There will be seed oils in your café breakfast. That doesn’t mean you need to spiral. I focus on the experience, the connection, the joy of that meal. Stressing about every detail is more toxic than a little oil ever could be.

8. Don’t fear weight fluctuation
A little bloating or water retention is normal. It’s not ‘fat gain’ — often it’s just your body adapting to more carbs, travel, or alcohol. Underneath it, your muscle and strength are still there. You’ll find your rhythm again naturally.

9. Enjoy yourself, fully
This is the golden rule. Don’t let food guilt rob you of joy. Have the thing, savour it, and move on. Joy and indulgence can exist alongside health — they’re not enemies.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about feeling empowered. When you stay connected to your values and treat wellness as an extension of who you are, health becomes something you take with you — not something you leave behind at home.

And if you want to make this your new normal, where feeling good is easy and embodied no matter where you are, my Naturally Well program is here to help you rewrite your relationship with food, movement, and yourself.

You deserve to come home feeling amazing — every time.
